The Festival de Química is an initiative of the American Chemical Society; an event, that provides an opportunity for middle and high school students to conduct a series of hands-on activities and observe demonstrations led by volunteer chemists. These festivals are designed to promote the public’s understanding of chemistry in the local communities and communicate the value and impact of chemistry in their lives.

In cooperation with the AAAS Science and Human Rights Coalition, this group on the ACS Network is dedicated to discussion and information exchange on (a) the protection and defense of scientists under threat; (b) working to increase the effectiveness of scientific organizations in defending the human rights of scientists.

This group supports the ACS research into the forces affecting the future of chemistry in China. For more information, or to contribute to the research, please contact strategy@acs.org.

This group will provide information on participation by the American Chemical Society at the Intel International Science & Engineering Fair. This information may be of use to the leaders of the Local Sections where the International Fair will occur. Intel ISEF 2015 will be held in Pittsburgh, Intel ISEF 2016 will be held in Phoenix, and Intel ISEF 2017 will be held in Los Angeles.

The Chemical Sciences and Society Symposia (CS3) discussion forum has been created to share information related to annual CS3 symposia. The CS3 symposium series is designed to convene eminent researchers from the US, Germany, Japan, China and the UK to explore frontier chemistry research, develop mutually beneficial collaborations for the future, and identify opportunities for multilateral alignment of research priorities and the creation of new, systematic opportunities for international research collaborations to address global challenges.
