Chemtoberfest 2019

Blog Post created by Martin Walker on Oct 22, 2019

The seventh annual Chemtoberfest! celebration will be held at SUNY Potsdam on Friday,
October 25th, 2019 from 9:00AM to 2:00PM at SUNY Potsdam’s McNall Science Center and the
Lougheed Learning Commons. The SUNY Potsdam Department of Chemistry and the Northern
New York Section of the American Chemical Society invites you and your students to attend this
free celebration exploring the “Marvelous Metals” of the periodic table!

The event theme, in tandem with National Chemistry Week (NCW), is “Marvelous
Metals”. This event will be like past years, but with a metallic twist. Considering that metals
make up about 80% of the periodic table, you can expect we have a lot to exhibit! Our student
guides will take your group on a mercurial adventure as we learn about the history and discovery
of metals, what metals are used for, and a myriad of hands on activities exploring the chemical
and physical properties of metals.

Please promote Chemtoberfest with this flyer.  We look forward to seeing you there!
