The Northern NY Section of the American Chemical Society (ACS) has announced the names of 8 outstanding high school chemistry students in the North Country who recently competed in the 2020 ACS National Chemistry Olympiad on April 26th via an online system. The students qualified for this competition based on nominations from their teachers and prior chemistry performance. Around 800 students competed in the country. The top 20 students will be invited to participate in a summer training prior to competing in the International Chemistry Olympiad
The North Country students are:

Hailey Morrissiey, Gouverneur
Trevor Benware, South Jefferson
Gracie Elliot, South Jefferson
Zachary Kennison, Adirondack
Jordan Gould, Whitehall
Cooper Stuntz, Canton
Sam Moses, Canton
The Northern NY Section again wants to congratulate all of the participants from our region as well as their teachers for their success and involvement in this program. We invite high school chemistry teachers around the North Country to consider this program during the 2020-2021 school year, and we look forward to seeing your students compete.
