The Delaware Section hosted a wonderful NCW event, which was a science fair for children in collaboration the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts. It was held at the Independence School in Newark, DE. There were approximately 600 people in attendance, including 400 children.  The following organizations participated and gave demonstrations:


* University of Delaware ACS Student Affiliates - molecular models

* Delaware Valley Professional Chapter of Alpha Chi Sigma - slime making

* Widener University - chemical detective work

* B&W TEK - chemistry of color

* ATK - Alka-Seltzer rockets, and the elements of rocketry

* Delaware Academy of Chemical Sciences - radioactive elements






* Hagley Museum - the 5 elements of gunpowder

* DuPont Miracles of Engineering Robotics Team - robot demonstrations

* DuPont Central Research & Development - elemental necklaces

* Mike Stemniski's Chemistry Show - chemical elements and chemical reactions

* St Marks' High School Chem Club - magnetism (iron), and starch test with iodine

* UD IGERT program - solar car demonstration
