This book, now in progress, is addressed to studentns and researchers interested in the theoretical description of the realistic systems, always interacting with their environment, especially to those wishing to work in the new field of the quantum conversion of the environmental heat into usable energy. This field is essentially based on three semiconductor devices: (1) Longitudinal Quantum Heat converter, (2) Transversal Quantum Heat Converter, and (3) Quantum Injection System. A review paper on the physical modeling of these devices is provided in Progress in Quantum Electronics. The book, when it will be ready, will include the physical ideas standing at the bsis of this appliction, and specific subjects necessary for understanding the involved phenomena.
