Schrock-type phosphinidene complexes are capable of unprecedented   [1 + 2]-cycloadditions with 1 equiv of isocyanide.

  Abstract:

18-Electron nucleophilic, Schrock-type phosphinidene complexes   are capable of unprecedented [1 + 2]-cycloadditions with 1 equiv   of isocyanide to give novel iridaphosphirane complexes of which   their structures were ascertained by X-ray diffraction.   Mechanistic studies revealed that they are formed via different   pathway than their nitrogen analogue.
