  Abstract: Our group has long been interested in   the reactions of CO2, CS2, and OCS with main group complexes   contg. amido ligands. Our studies have largely been directed   towards understanding the interplay between metal and ligand   structure that ultimately plays a major role in detg. the   reaction products. These main group complexes have demonstrated a   wide span of reactivity with these heteroallenes, ranging from   simple insertion chem. through insertion/elimination reactions to   formation of novel "adducts". Our syntheses of unique ligands and   their metal complexes will also be described in this talk. This   presentation will summarize our key exptl. findings to date, with   a significant focus on our recent syntheses and characterization   of CO2-adducts of main group complexes.
