  Abstract:

  The teaching of chemical concepts at all levels of education is   often seen as difficult cognition. Some recent works suggest that   this is due to the discrepancy with the content covered in the   classroom context. This work aims to discuss the Conceptual   Fields Theory proposed by Gérard Vergnaud (1990) applied to   chemistry teaching. We propose the use of open and contextualized   problems, in this case the use of chemistry in an environmentally   responsible manner for undergraduates. Based on the precepts of   Vergnaud, we demonstrate that it is a potential strategy for the   development of concepts relating to the field of chemical   representation of the mechanisms of organic reactions and Green   Chemistry.
