  Abstract: In the area of iodine fluorides, the   reaction of PNP+HF2- (PNP =   bis(triphenylphosphoranylidene)ammonium) with an excess of IF5   produced the novel [PNP]+[3IF5HF2]- salt which was characterized   by its crystal structure. In the area of iodine oxofluorides, the   trans-isomer of IF4O2- was obtained in pure form from the   reaction of [PPh4]+[IO4]- with anhyd. HF, and its crystal   structure was detd. In the area of iodine oxides, the first   unambiguous proof for the existence of I2O7 was obtained. I2O7 is   a polymeric yellow solid which is marginally stable at room-temp.   and decomps. at higher temps. cleanly to known I2O6 and oxygen.   [on SciFinder(R)]
