Abstract: Under certain conditions, the   phosphonocarboxylate analog,   2-hydroxy-3-imidazo[1,2-a]pyridin-3-yl-2-phosphonopropionic acid   (3), of the bisphosphonate drug minodronate (4) in contact with   borosilicate glassware reversibly forms an isolable dimer complex   of B, as revealed by the x-ray crystallog. structure of the   (R,R/S,S) complex and supported by NMR and HRMS data.
