  Abstract: The vanadium(IV) and vanadium(V)   binary azides V(N3)4, [PPh4]2[V(N3)6], [PNP]2[V(N3)6] and   [NMe4][V(N3)6] were prepd. and characterized by IR and Raman   spectroscopy. V(N3)4 and [NMe4][V(N3)6] are very shock-sensitive   and can explode violently upon the slightest provocation, while   the vanadium(IV) anionic complexes are more stable. The   structures of [PPh4]2[V(N3)6] and [PNP]2[V(N3)6] were studied by   x-ray crystallog. and theor. calcns. [on SciFinder(R)]
