This abundance of genomic information has created an equal need for computerized databases to store, organize and index data -- not to mention specialized tools to view and analyze the data. Thus Bioinformatics is born. Join Dr. David Tabb, molecular biologist with Vanderbilt University, as we explore this relatively new field and what it could mean to you. Since 2005, David Tabb has run a research group at Vanderbilt University. His team specializes in the identification of proteins from mass spectrometry data. Increasingly, David has been featured as a teacher in the field of bioinformatics, leading short courses and tutorials at ASMS and ABRF conferences.
