PHR Physicians for Human Rights
Drs. Kamiar and Arash Alaei are Iranian physicians and brothers who have dedicated themselves to improving the health of their countrymen and women. Over the past 25 years, they have worked side by side to address HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis and addiction in Iran. They were arrested by Iranians authorities in June 2008 as they prepared to represent Iran at the 17th International Aids Conference in Mexico City.
Kamiar was released in late 2010 after 870 days in prison. Arash remains in Evin Prison in Tehran.
Since his release, Kamiar has been tirelessly campaigning for his brother’s freedom and he needs your help.
Today marks a Global Day of Action, when health professionals, medical leaders, scientists, and concerned citizens from around the world will call on the Iranian authorities to release Arash.
