Dr. Satinder Ahuja, President of Ahuja Consulting, discusses his firsthand observations on water quality and sanitation in the developing world, particularly in Bangladesh and India where he recently organized an International Workshop on Sustainability and Water Quality in New Delhi sponsored by ACS’ Global Innovation Imperatives (Gii).  For a number of years now, Dr. Ahuja has been utilizing his expertise in ultratrace analysis and separation chemistry to help solve the problem of arsenic contamination in Bangladesh, India, and the United States. He has published many papers and eighteen books including Handbook of Water Purity and Quality (Elsevier, 2009) and Arsenic Contamination of Water (Wiley, 2008).  Dr. Ahuja has chaired ACS activities locally, nationally, and internationally, and has served distinguished panels for the UN and AAAS.
