Kang Yang Memorial Fellowship

Kang Yang Memorial Fellowship

Kang Yang Memorial Fellowship

The Kang Yang memorial fellowship is awarded each year to a Ponca City high school senior planning to pursue a college degree in a hard science: chemistry, physics, biology or mathematics. The fellowship is a competitive award and applications are judged based on grade point average, performance on standardized tests, such as ACT or SAT, extracurricular activities/community service, and teacher or community leader recommendations. Kang Yang was a highly regarded, influential scientist in the Petroleum Products department of Conoco in Ponca City, Oklahoma. The fellowship was established by his friends and colleagues to honor Kang Yang’s memory by encouraging excellent young students to pursue a science degree.
