2001 Section Meetings

February 23, 2001, "Environmental Behavior of Plutonium", Prof. Gregory Choppin, Florida State University, Tallahassee, FL. The meeting will be held at Rm. 333, Red Mountain Bldg., TMCC, 6:30 p.m. 

April 27, 2001, "The Use and Misuse of Scientific Evidence (or, Sherlock Holmes Makes Mistakes)", Dr. Richard Henderson, Southern Research Laboratories, Florence, SC. The meeting will be held at Yen Ching Restaurant, 6:30 p.m. 

May 16, 2001, High School Chemistry & Physics Awards, Schulich Lecture Hall, Room 1, UNR, 6:00 p.m.

NOTE:  SNDC award POSTPONED until 2002 Sierra Nevada Distinguished Chemist Lecture and Banquet - Prof. Richard Zare, Stanford University, Stanford, CA. Time and place TBA. 

November 9, 2001, "The Scent of Seduction: Pheromone Production in Bark Beetles and Houseflies", Dr. Gary Blomquist, University of Nevada, Reno. The meeting will be held at the Texas Longhorn Bar and Grill, 6:30 p.m. 

December 7, 2001, "Wines of the California Central Coast," Larry Sapperstein, Eagle Vineyards. The meeting will be held in the Reading Room at the Reynolds School of Journalism on the UNR campus, 6:30 pm.
