The Green Chemistry Initiative (GCI) – a student-run organization at the University of Toronto – are thrilled to be organizing their third annual event, which this year will feature Green Chemistry Applied in Industry. The symposium will take place on May 13-15, 2015 at the University of Toronto.
This symposium is designed to provide students and researchers with a thorough insight into how green chemistry plays an important role in industrial applications. We have speakers lined up from many companies including Dow Chemicals, Sigma Aldrich, VWR, Xerox, 1366 Technologies, Proteaf Technologies, Green Chemistry Commerce Council, and GreenCentre Canada, in addition to several academic perspectives. For those looking to brush up on the basics of green chemistry, there will also be an optional crash course on May 13th preceding the symposium talks held on May 14th & 15th.
Participants will get a chance to present their own research at a poster session, and share ideas on how green chemistry can be implemented. There will also be plenty of networking opportunities to interact with the invited speakers, from coffee breaks to a panel discussion. At the end of the symposium, all participants and speakers are also invited to join the GCI at a casual social event nearby. Spots are limited and registration closes on May 1, 2015, so don’t miss out! Registration ($100 CAD) is available at the following link: http://bit.ly/1AqE3cb
More details on the event speakers, schedule, cost, and accommodations are available at our Symposium website.
