Forensic Toxicology Chemical & Product Quantitative Hazard & Risk Assessments
(Green Comparisons, Exposure Calculations, Lifecycle Analyses, Lawsuit Responses)
Regulatory and consumer pressures are increasing the need for manufacturers, distributors, and retailers to know chemical hazards and their regulatory impacts, as well as understand the risks they do/don’t present in their products. Life cycle and sustainability professionals require a broader perspective. Attorneys typically need real science to unmask the junk science in a case. Dr. George Thompson will explain Web-based, quantitative, multi-criteria, hazard-and-risk-based GreenSuite® modules can be applied across the four phases of the lifecycle to address each/all of these customer needs. These systems each utilize a >27,000 chemical reference database of 44 criteria derived from the NSF/ANSI 355 national “Greener Chemicals and Processes Information Standard,” and are complemented by in-depth risk calculations that utilize REACH exposure algorithms, based upon product-specific exposure scenarios.
What You Will Learn:
- Ranking chemicals hazards in your inventory
- Evaluating existing product risks in seconds
- Designing safer products and manufacturing processes
- Substituting “greener” alternative chemicals in a product or process
- Incorporating supplier confidential information into your product/process analyses
- Performing consumer risk assessments utilizing REACH exposure algorithms & scenarios
- Integrating risk assessments into sales and marketing presentations
- Legal application of these data to either defense or plaintiff cases

Dr. George Thompson is a toxicologist with 47 years of experience in chemical, product and process hazard and risk assessments. He has been President and CEO of Chemical Compliance Systems, Inc. (CCS) for the past 33 years. CCS has developed the largest relational chemical and product databases in the world, and 38 Web-based analytical compliance modules – 8 of these systems have been integrated into our Enhanced GreenSuite®. CCS chemical and product risk assessment capabilities include certified “green” comparative analyses and Risk Characterization Ratio calculations for consumer exposures. Impacts of constituent chemicals on regulatory lists and translation of our data reports into risk-based Environmental, Health, and Safety Product Declarations can be derived from our quantitative risk assessments. Alternative chemical analyses and substitutions are also part of these capabilities.
