Dear ACS Colleagues:
I am pleased to announce that at its 2012 meeting in San Diego, the ACS Committee on International Activities (IAC) approved a plan to award global innovation grants to ACS local sections, technical divisions and committees for new activities which support and extend the Committee’s strategic goals.
Below you will find information on the global innovation grants. I would like to emphasize that awards of up to $5,000 will be made for new activities including those which catalyze new international collaborations and partnerships dedicated to solutions to global challenges.
We hope this new activity of IAC will generate innovative ideas from you and your leadership to help the Society advance its interests, perhaps best characterized in Article II, Section 3 of the ACS Constitution.
“To foster the objects specified in this Article, the SOCIETY shall cooperate with scientists internationally and shall be concerned with the worldwide application of chemistry to the needs of humanity.”
Many thanks again. If you have any questions, please do contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Very best regards,
Judith L. Benham, Chair, IAC
