The discussion will take place Monday August 21, 7:45-9:00 AM at the Renaissance Washington Hotel in Washington DC. A light breakfast will be served.

Summary:

Chemical risk assessment and risk management are critical factors governing the regulation of the chemical enterprise. ACS has recently updated its position statement on Chemical Risk Assessment and Regulatory Decision Making. This open meeting hosted by the Committee on Environmental Improvement (CEI) is designed to provide insights into the development process used to develop this ACS position statement. Members of the writing team from the CEI, Committee on Science (COMSCI), and Corporation Associates (CA) will serve as panel members. A brief overview of the position statement and its recommendations will be provided by the writing team lead, Dr. Carol Henry. Panel members will then field questions from attendees. The goal of this event is to raise awareness of ACS position statements and to spur additional discussions and programming within divisions and other committees.
