C&EN Mobile for iOS is moving to Newsstand with version 2.1.0!

This move gives us the opportunity to offer you a wide variety of improvements and new features. Most notably, we can now push new issues to your device, regardless of whether or not you have the app open on your device. Issues will automatically appear on the Newsstand bookshelf, and in the app on This Week and in the C&EN Store. Downloading previous issues now occurs in the background allowing you to browse the app uninterrupted. Now when you go to Newsstand on your Apple device, you will see the most recent issue cover on the bookshelf and if you have not seen it yet, a NEW sash will appear letting you know it's a new issue ready for you to view.

With the move to Newsstand we now offer non-ACS members the option to purchase a 1 year auto-renewing subscription for $149.99. As before, non-members can continue to purchase C&EN Magazine issues for only $2.99 each using the In-App purchase option.

Per Apple subscription policy, payment will be charged to your iTunes Account at the time of confirmation of purchase. Your subscription automatically renews unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24-hours before the end of the current period. Your account will be charged $149.99 for renewal within 24-hours prior to the end of the current period. You can manage your subscription and turn off auto-renewal by going to your Apple Account Settings after purchase. No cancellation of the current subscription is allowed during active subscription period.

We have also added the C&EN YouTube Channel, allowing you to watch C&EN videos without ever leaving the app! For articles containing large tables and complex diagrams, we have added the ability to view them as PDFs to give you the highest quality resolution and viewing experience. And finally, we have improved our system messages to let you know when your internet connection is lost or intermittent.
