Hi guys, i am doing my project in a university and i am stuck up with some difficulties. The topic of my project is "stabilization of heavy metals in contaminated soil using xanthan". This project is effected by determining the lead uptake by maize plant in an artificial contaminated soil and added xanthan in various quantities into each pot. My problem is that the maize seed is not germinating in the pots except in the control pot. I have researched enough reasons to compensate for this setback but xanthan gum on its own is a soil improver and hence does not neccessarily have negative impact on the maize.I am thinking it is the concentration of the lead added to the soil(100g), 5g of pd in each.
I desprately need any idea or knowledge on this project and whatever modification you might think need to be done. Thanks guys for your effort.
