The East Central Illinois Local Section held a science cafe titled, "The Trouble with Intuitions," by professor Dan Simons. The cafe was attended by 20 people. The speaker talked for 45 minutes about how many of our strongest intuitions about what we see, remember, and know turn out to be wrong and why such mistaken beliefs matter. The speaker was well-received by the audience and many questions were asked. The event was advertised using Facebook, local news, email, flyers, local radio stations. Thank you to the East Central Illinois Local Section for providing the information for this blog.
