Nominations are now open for the 2017 class of ACS Fellows; the deadline for nominations is April 6, 2017. The selection of ACS Fellows is based on two criteria:

 

  • Documented excellence and leadership that has an impact in the science, the profession, education, and/or management
  • Documented excellence and leadership in volunteer service, based on specific results achieved, in service to the ACS and its membership and community.

 

Nominations are submitted online and are solicited from ACS National Committees, Local Sections, and Divisions, as well as from individual members.   • CALL FOR PAPERS

Abstracts are open for submission from January 4, 2017 to February 13, 2017. Submit for presentation at the 21st Annual Green Chemistry & Engineering Conference (GC&E) held June 13-15, 2017 in Reston, Virginia.

This premier conference on green chemistry and engineering gathers hundreds of participants from industry, government, and academia every year to share research as well as education and business strategies to ensure a green and sustainable future.

Deadlines for student green chemistry awards start February 13, 2017!

Apply now for the Joseph Breen Memorial Fellowship, Kenneth G. Hancock Memorial Award and ACS GCI Pharmaceutical Roundtable Student Travel Grants. Outstanding scholars, from undergrad to post-doc to early career, have the opportunity to receive travel reimbursement to present their research, be recognized for excellence in research,  and advance their careers through participating at green chemistry conferences or trainings. The American Chemical Society (ACS) Fellows Program is now accepting nominations for 2017 ACS Fellows. The selection of ACS Fellows is based on two criteria:

  • Documented excellence and leadership that has an impact in the science, the profession, education, and/or management; and
  • Documented excellence and leadership in volunteer service, based on specific results achieved, in service to the ACS and its membership and community. 

 

Nominees and nominators must be current members (including retired and emeritus members) in good standing of the ACS.  Former members or deceased members will not be considered as nominees. Current members of the ACS Fellows Selection Committee, ACS Fellows Oversight Committee, ACS Board of Directors, and current ACS staff are not eligible to be nominees or nominators. 

 

Nominations are solicited from ACS National Committees, Local Sections, and Divisions, as well as from individual members. Self-nominations are not accepted.  Each nomination requires a primary nominator and two secondary nominators, each of whom must provide a letter of recommendation.  The online nomination form also requires the following nominee information: Code of Conduct, Award Citations, Professional Organization Affiliations, Volunteer Service to the ACS Community, Contributions to the Science/Profession, Honors and Awards, and Resume/CV. The Primary Nominator is responsible for submitting the nomination.

The Stan Israel Award was established to recognize individuals and/or institutions that have advanced diversity in the chemical sciences and significantly stimulated or fostered activities that promote inclusiveness within the region.  Nominees may come from academia, industry, government or independent entities, and may also be organizations, including ACS local Sections and divisions. The nominee must have created and fostered ongoing programs or activities that result in increased numbers of person from diverse and underrepresented minority groups, persons with disabilities, or women that participate in the chemical enterprise.
