Volunteer opportunities

Hi my name is Javier, after a year of internship I'm having trouble finding a job in my field of biochemstry with emphasis on pharmaceutical/biotechnology. I live in Austin, Texas and I was wondering if you have any advice or websites where to obtained volunteer opportunities?

Javier:  I have two suggestions for you.  First, join LinkedIn and search for people with the same technical backgrounds and interests.  A lot of "headhunters" (recruiters) also search and are listed on LinkedIn.  Second, be open to relocation.  There are very few chemists (including myself) who have been able to find jobs within a limited geographical area.  You may have to move to find the position you want.
