Research and Special Interests: Experience: I held leadership positions in R&D at Cargill Inc. and General Mills. I worked as Assistant Professor of Biophysics at Boston University and currently working as an adjunct Professor in the Dept. of Bioproducts and Biosystems Engineering at University of Minnesota. My solid experience include:  Problem Solving and Product improvements  Process Optimization and Scale-up  Synthesis, Physical Properties and Molecular Packing of Lipids.  Deriving Molecular Structure-Property-Functionality Relationships.  Developed New Products from Concept to Commercialization: Food Applications -;  High stability oils, trans fat alternatives; Industrial Applications -; lubricants and coatings.  Preventing Oxidative Deterioration of Fats and Oils Accomplishments: My extensive experience helped to develop both a big picture vision to find business opportunities in new product development and a knack to tackle technical & commercial hurdles early on for commercialization. Invented and Commercialized New Products:  Food Applications - Odyssey-500, high stability oils and trans fat alternatives  Non-food Industrial Applications - Dilulin, a reactive diluent for paints and coatings Moldlube-NS, a metal casting lubricant; Agri-Pure and Agri-Sperse families of lubricants. Problem Solving and Value Creation:  Championed and created a new business line of products with $100 million potential  Contributed to a biotechnology strategy team that created > $100 million Intellectual Property.  Provided a process solution resulting in $ 2.6 million savings per year. Patents and Publications:  18 patents and >60 publications.
