Area of Expertise: Senior Research Scientist, over 30 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Utilization of organic chemistry in the design and synthesis of new chemical processes and/or the improvement of existing chemical processes; follow-up research leads through process development, pilot plant and into manufacturing. Developed and optimized synthetic routes for potential active pharmaceutical ingredients (API) and intermediates for (i-NOS, MMP, Celebrex, Bextra, Dynastat injectable Eplerenone, HIV, Steroids and Prostaglandin) and explored new and improved methods for their synthesis. The newly developed processes for (Celebrex, Bextra, Dynastat injectable COX-2 inhibitor and Inspra for hypertension) were transferred from the laboratory to pilot plant and manufacturing to prepare multi-kilogram quantities of both drug substance and drug API in support of preclinical and clinical studies. Authored several scientific publications and is listed as inventor on sixteen United State Patents.
