Research and Special Interests:
I am currently working on my doctorate in Pharmacology and Toxicology with a primary focus in toxicology at the University of Arizona under the tutelage of Dr. Nathan J. Cherrington. My work primarily focuses on the effects of Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease upon drug metabolism and disposition. I am investigating the expressional and functional changes that occur with disease progression, and assessing the functional outcomes of those changes upon whole body drug disposition.
Area of Expertise:
Research methods include mRNA expression by Quantigene and qPCR methods, immunoblot analysis, immunohistochemical and immunofluorescence tissue staining, hepatic enzyme activity, in vivo disposition, confocal and brightfield microscopy, LC-MS/MS using a Waters Acquity UPLC and Quattro Premier system, NaBS DNA sequencing, sterile cell culture, bacterial cloning, and limited ChIP experience.
