Attending the ISPAC Conference

I attended a very informative conference on polymer analysis and characterization on June 2-5 at Sendai, Japan.  The International Symposium on Polymer Analysis and Characterization (ISPAC) featured 4 short courses, 14 invited lectures, 34 contributed oral presentations, and 59 posters.  About 150 people from 19 countries registered for the meeting. Many new developments were reported, particularly in polymer spectroscopy (NMR, MS, IR), polymer rheology, microscopy (AFM, SEM, TEM), diffraction (X-ray and electron), interaction-based separations (IC, LCCC, 2D LC), size-based separations (SEC, FFF), scattering (light, X-ray, and neutron), and hyphenated techniques.
