H. N. Cheng for 2020 ACS President-Elect

Blog Post created by H.N. Cheng on Sep 24, 2019

Dear Fellow ACS Member:

The ACS will be sending out emails containing personalized voting links to all of us from September 30 to October 2, and we will have until October 25 to vote.  I am one of the two candidates for ACS President-Elect, and I would very much appreciate your support and your vote.

I bring considerable experience to this position as a leader in ACS local sections, divisions, national, and international areas, with a long track record of getting things done for our members.

Feel free to visit my website (http://hncheng-acs.org) for my personal statement, ACS experience, biography, and research accomplishments.

If elected, I will work hard together with ACS colleagues, students, and staff to enhance our profession and benefit our members.  In particular, I would emphasize four initiatives:

  1.       Strengthen the bond between ACS and the members
  2.       Catalyze changes needed to grow ACS and to benefit our profession
  3.       Provide strong support for innovation and career programs
  4.       Enhance our public profile and advocate for science

Peter Drucker, a founder of modern management, once said, “The best way to predict the future is to create it.”  I hope to have your vote to make it happen.
