Area of Expertise: Chemistry education: Our research interest is to study how the learning styles affect the teaching-learning process in the Organic Chemistry course for majors. This research includes the instruction (transmission of attitudes, skills and habits of inquiry to students), the practice (development of the tools and methods used to teach chemistry) and the assessment. Our research also includes the design, development, implementation and assessment of non-traditional and inquiry based Laboratory Experiences for Organic Chemistry. Organometallic chemistry: Synthesis and characterization of ferrocene derivatives known as ferrocenyl chalcones. The study of their potential applications including molecular materials, as redox-sensors, as dendrimers and polymers and in drug design
