Research and Special Interests: I am currently a graduate research assistant at University of Delaware (PhD program in Chemistry), starting my fifth year, maybe the last one. My research is focused on the understanding of mechanisms of adsorption and decomposition on surfaces, which is (I think) fundamental for the functionalization and modification of surfaces at the molecular level. This research is done through the use of several experimental techniques (including IR, XPS and TPD/MS) and their combination with density functional calculations. In the past, I have investigated the electrodeposition of metals on silicon (and I still love those days). I used mainly linear and cyclic voltammetry to find the potentials of deposition/desorption, followed by chronoamperometric essays.
Area of Expertise: Surface chemistry, electrochemistry
