Jay Brown published research on the electrochemical reduction pathways of the s-triazine herbicide terbuthylazine (TBA). The research involved the use of Controlled-Potential Electrolysis (CPE) to determine the number of electrons in the reduction and to produce a sample of the final product. The structure of the final product was then determined by the use of Gas Chromatography/Mass Spectroscopy (GC/MS), Infrared (IR) Interferometry, and Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) Spectroscopy.
