Research and Special Interests:
I am interested in how analytical chemistry techniques can be used in all different areas. My previous research has involved using Raman Spectroscopy to analyze carbon nanotubes; FTIR-ATR Spectroscopy to image pharmaceutical tablets; GC-MS, FTIR, GC-FID, and other techniques to qualitatively and quantitatively analyze industrial samples of coatings and lubricants; XRD to determine composition of soil samples, and FTIR to study smokeless powders. I have also studied many other techniques in my coursework on both an undergraduate and a graduate level.
I am especially interested in a career where I can use analytical techniques, instrumental or wet chemistry, to qualitatively and quantitatively analyze or identify substances.
