Associate Professor of Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering at Georgia Tech by and stand-up comedian by night Pete is out to prove that those of us in the chemical sciences can be funny and not just funny-looking (www.drpetecomedy.com). Pete's research focuses on the molecular simulation of synthetic and biological polymers and the application of humorous improvisation to catalyze technical innovation. Pete hosts and produces a weekly radio show on science and technology entitled "Inside the Black Box". It airs every Wednesday at noon Eastern time and its motto is "Science, only funnier," (www.insidetheblackbox.org). Pete is listed in the ACS Speaker Directory and speaks internationally on everything from the humorous side of science and technology and the use of improvisation to aid technical innovation to the use of humor in improving technical education and communication. Recently, his one man show on introductory statistics and its role in our high-tech World at the New Orleans Fringe Festival was described by the NOLA Defender as "...part stand-up, part statistics, part song and all incredibly smart."
