Research and Special Interests: Synthesis of small molecule RNA-targeted libraries as well as the conjugation of bioactive compounds with fluorescent probes for the detailed studies of binding modes to target RNAs. Many RNA motifs play important roles in cellular biology and can be used as drug targets. "RNA motif"-"small molecule" partners in the combination with a modular assembly approach allow targeting multiple sites within a single RNA increasing binding affinity and specificity simultaneously.
Area of Expertise: Development of new diversity-oriented synthetic methodologies for obtaining small molecule HTS libraries. Conjugation of bioactive compounds with fluorescent probes for the detailed studies of binding modes with relevant biological targets. Development of novel molecular probes (dyes and photoluminescent compounds) for sensors, screening assays and bio-imaging applications.
Years of Expertise: 6-10
