Research and Special Interests:
My teaching duties are in the areas of general, inorganic and analytical chemistry. I serve as research director for 4-8 undergraduate chemistry majors at any given time.
I am currently researching self-assembled metal-organic networks, especially those of copper(I). I am interested in these materials with respect to their luminescent and catalytic properties.
I am also interested in fire retardance and smoke suppression in commercial polymers.
Finally, I solve X-ray crystal structures for myself and outside collaborators, especially those at primarily undergraduate institutions.
Area of Expertise:
inorganic chemistry, organometallic chemistry, metal-organic networks, materials, X-ray crystallography, polymers, luminescent materials, catalysis, chemical education and outreach
Years of Expertise:
