Area of Expertise:
My core competency is inorganic chemistry. I specialize in structure-function relationships of materials with emphasis on metal oxide thin films as applied to lithium-ion battery electrodes, solar energy conversion, and heterogeneous catalysis. I have extensive experience applying electrochemistry, photoelectrochemistry, and a variety of materials characterization techniques to complex energy conversion problems.
I have experience in a variety of electrochemical [Voltammetry, Impedence, Quarz-Crystal Microgravimetry (QCM)] and photoelectrochemical methods [Photocurrent, Incident Photon-to-Current Efficiency (IPCE)]. I am also skilled in a variety of materials characterization techniques for structural and compositional information [Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM), Electron Diffraction (ED), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM/EDS)
X-ray Diffraction (XRD), Small Angle X-ray Scattering (SAXS), N2 Adsorption (BET), Thermogravimetric Analysis (TGA), UV-vis, and Infrared and Raman Spectroscopy].
