Research and Special Interests: My primary interest is in the use of analytical methods to study glycobiology. Glycoproteins play a significant role in many aspects of disease. I am intersted in studying the biochemical pathways, interactions, and functions that are affected by glycosylation, and how this information can be used to develop relavent treatments. My recent work involves the development of novel of analytical methods (MS and LC-MSn) for the characterization of glycoproteins and biopharmaceuticals. In addition, I have been exploring synthetic strategies for preparing glycoconjugates that will prove useful in the study of protein glycosylation.
