Research and Special Interests: Based in Lund Sweden, Thomas Edward Fehniger is a medical researcher with over 30 years of experience in academics (University of California, Karolinska Institute, Stockholm University), government (National Cancer Institute, NIH, Armauer Hansen Institute) and industry (Astra-Draco, AstraZeneca). Fehniger is currently under appointment of the Estonian Science Foundation in the EU sponsored Mobilitas Program in the position of Top Researcher to develop infrastructure of scientific platforms in Estonia. Fehniger currently holds positions as Professor at the Institute of Clinical Medicine at the Tallinn University of Technology and Professor in the Department of Measurement Technology and Industrial Electrical Engineering, in Lunds Technical University. Fehniger achieved experience in drug development in over a decade of service (1998-2009) in AstraZeneca R&D, Lund in the respiratory and inflammation disease area as lead of experimental pathology, within drug pipeline portfolio development, and as the manager of human sample acquisition in Sweden. Academically Fehniger has authored over 100 peer reviewed publications, holds patents in the USA and EU and currently serves on the editorial advisory board and special editions editor on clinical proteomics in the American Chemical Society sponsored Journal of Proteome Research.
