I received my PhD in organic chemistry from the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana in 1984. My first job was with Owens-Corning Fiberglas in Granville, Ohio where I synthesized organosilicon coupling agents. After three years I moved to Huntsville, Alabama where I have been ever since, working on a variety of projects involving the synthesis and formulation of rocket fuels and explosives.
