January 2011 - Please Respond

Dear CAP members,

Happy 2011 to you! We in ACS Publications Sales, Marketing, and Web Strategy are looking forward to partnering with you this year to achieve the goals outlined in our November inaugural meeting.

SUMMARY OF DECEMBER MEETING
3 Subcommittees:

Data Curation = Bob, Carol, and Jonathan Morgan (ACS)
Bibliometrics = Andrew, Luti, and Steve Hansen (ACS)
IT Security = James, Norah, and Brandon Nordin (ACS)

JANUARY MEETINGS

Each committee has it’s own lead (indicated in bold). Leads, please sure to schedule your first committee conference call by the end of January to cement the following:

Scope of the topic
Compilation of background materials that should be made available on the ACS Network Page
Division of Labor between members (including ACS staff)
Timeline for completion of the report

Please use this ACS Network page to share documents, background material, notes from your meetings, and your report. We will be able to subdivide our documents based on categories. Please select "data curation," "bibliometrics," and/or "IT security" to tag the documents/notes/etc that fall into those categories. Feel free to tag with multiple tags if necessary. We want these groups to be open and for members outside the subgroups to contribute when approproiate.

JUNE CAP MEETING and REPORTS

We plan on presenting final reports to each other during the June CAP meeting to be planned around SLA. Please indicate which two day period is best for you so we can schedule this meeting in Philly.

Jun 8-9, Jun 9-10, Jun 10-11, Jun 15-16, Jun 16-17

Please be sure to include me in your initial committee meeting so I can assist with logistics and stay in the loop. Please also feel free to invite CAP members, NOT in your committee, to your meetings if the topic or meeting is of mutual interest.

I look forward to hearing from all of you soon.

Best,
Sara

As one of the SLA conference planners, I need to be at the conference and the general sessions so I'm not able to do anything overlapping the actual conference.  Since I'm also involved in several groups and committees, it may impact my availability on either end of the conference.  If we're following the same schedule as in Charleston (dinner one evening and then a day-long meeting the next), I could possibly participate in the June 8-9, 9-10 or 10-11 or June 16-17 slots.  I'm trying to pin down some of those meetings so this may change.

-James

James,

So far the date people have come back with is June 10-11. You think this

might work, then?

Best,

Sara

I didn't think Bob could make it to SLA...

June 10-11 is also ok with me.

Andrew White,

Yah, we¹re trying to figure that out...

I attempted to accommodate, but was not successful.  As previously mentioned, this is not a good time for me.  I can arrange to video-or teleconference on for all or part of the meeting.  Let me know if that would work for you.
