Enameled cast iron mishap

While baking sourdough bread, I was using a cheap pair of oven mitts to lift the cover from my enameled cast iron pot. The material from the mitt melted right into the pot lid, which was subsequently baked  a 500 degree for 50 minutes. (Couldn't stop to clean it off without risking ruining the bread!)  I've tried Oxi-Clean soaks, applying vegetable oil, 50% rubbing alcohol, and a weak acetone nail polish remover, (rubbing with a Scotch-Bite pad after applying each), but can't remove the baked on matter. Any suggestions to remove the gunk without ruining the pot lid?
