We were testing Formamide by the ACS monograph. It instructed us to use a Type I column under the Assay method. The chromatography is not great with peaks splitting and it looks overloaded. We noticed that in the monograph it references Part 2; Recommended Procedures; Gas Chromatography. In that section there is a table for GC retention times for the three types of columns. For Formamide, it states that the "Column of Choice" is Type III and there is no RT data under the Type I and Type II columns. Is there a typo in the monograph? Anyone know which column we should be using?
