There is a sticky substance (completely invisible and odorless) that has ruined my life for the past month.
I have tried the following to attempt to remove the substance: regular hand soap, isopropyl alcohol, white vinegar, acetone, baking soda, mineral oil, Goo Gone, 3 different oil-based facial cleansers, regular oils (e.g., olive, coconut, castor), and a handful of adhesive removers from the hardware store.
Nothing makes a difference in terms of removing it. Most frustratingly, it transfers extremely easily. If I touch other surfaces with my bare hands, then the substance will transfer over. I've had to resort to wearing nitrile gloves to prevent contaminating additional surfaces.
I have not been able to ascertain the source of the substance. I came home one day from running errands last month when I first discovered the substance and could not remove it after washing my hands three times.
