What binds with ordinary salt in a water medium?
"Binds" with it? Not sure what you're asking. If you want to remove chloride io, you can precipitate it with silver nitrate as silver chloride. Removing sodium chloride completely requires either distillation, reverse osmosis (a kind of filtering), or using an ion-exchange resin, which swaps chloride for hydroxide, sodium for Hydrogen ion, and then the hydroxide and hydrogen ions combine to give you water, leaving the sodium and chloride on the ion exchange resin.
