Ribonucleoside Vanadyl Complexes

Dear Friend,

I am using Ribonucleoside Vanadyl complexes to protect RNA from RNAses in a biological sample. I have noticed that the compound is highly prone to oxidation. The manufacturer recommends to generate one use  aliquots  and freeze them until use.

Given that my aliquots are small (50µl) I was wondering what is the best way to protect them from air. I was thinking adding mineral oil on top.

My concern originates in a change of color I have observed in the aliquots (green forest to black) that is correlated with loss in power for RNAse inhibition.

Suggestion are welcome!

I suspect the oxidation of the compound decreases its power against RNAses.
