Chemical and Biological Instrumentation Learning tools
Hello,
I'm wondering if anyone has a good resource to learn more about chemical and biological instrumentations? Specifically, HPLC. I've used gas chromatography, but did not have a chance to use HPLC. A lot of requirements for jobs have HPLC listed. I am interested in learning how to use one on my own, but I might have to go for a master's degree to get my hands on one. Any advice or leads?

Re: Chemical and Biological Instrumentation Learning tools
Hello,
I'm looking to deepen my knowledge in chemical and biological instrumentation, especially High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC). While I have hands-on experience with gas chromatography, I haven’t had the opportunity to use HPLC in a lab setting yet. I’ve noticed it’s a key requirement for many roles in pharma and biotech, and I’d like to bridge that gap on my own if possible.
I’m exploring whether to pursue a master’s degree to gain access to this kind of instrumentation, but before taking that leap, I’m hoping to find accessible resources or practical learning paths to get started. Ideally, I’d love to find:
Online courses or simulations that offer solid foundational knowledge
Any certification programs or short courses that include hands-on HPLC training
Advice on how to get real-world experience (volunteer, internship, CROs, etc.)
Book or video recommendations that go beyond surface-level theory
