Molecular Pathology

The purpose of molecular pathology is to elucidate the mechanisms of disease by identifying alterations in molecular and pathway. At the core of this still-evolving discipline is the application of classical and novel techniques developed in cell biology, molecular biology, biochemistry, proteomics and genetics, to the evaluation of pathological processes. In drug discovery and preclinical safety assessment, morphological changes in cells are often accompanied by changes in DNA, RNA, or protein molecules.
