New Ph.D.’s commonly start their industry career as researchers but there are many other opportunities for scientists once they have proven themselves. Although your background may be in research this does not preclude you from seeking positions in environmental health and safety, marketing, and management.
Be sure to use your skills as a scientist to establish your credibility within a company before exploring other career paths. Fundamentally you are a scientist – play off your strengths.
